Houston To Build Beyoncé Statue [News]
A marketing company named Armdeonce Ventures, are planning to build a statue to the Destiny’s Child singer in her home town of Houston. They have titled the project, the “Beyonce Knowles Monument Project”.
Marcus Mitchell and Steve White, the two owners of the company, have said to Fox, “Our biggest thing is a lot of people get honoured when they die, so our goal is to why not honour people while they’re still here? We felt as though it’s her time to be honoured.”
The two men aren’t just talking about a little stone bust though, this is America after all. “We wanted to construct, like, a massive hall so as the doors open, if you donated to the monument, you’ll have a separate nameplate,” Marcus says. “There will be clips of Beyonce with Destiny’s Child and wardrobe like a mini museum.”
According to Marcus, they’ve got real proper official backing, though. “We’ve gotten support from the city of Houston, from the mayor. We’re waiting for a very nice letter from the mayor right now.”
Mark and Steve have assured investors that it’s all for a good cause. “The proceeds from this project will go towards the construction, housing, and unveiling of this monument, as well as to several charitable causes […] and hunger victims around the world.”
If everything goes smoothly then the unveiling will most likely happen in September, on Beyonce’s birthday.
